Key achievement
I served as the design lead for a major project that encompassed two key objectives: first, the creation of a mobile design system from the ground up, which has ultimately been utilized by hundreds of design and engineering professionals; and second, the redesign of mobile apps using these new components.

My role
I was responsible for leading the creation of the mobile design system for UBS, a client of Netguru. While working at Netguru, I collaborated with other designers to plan, prioritize, design, and document all assets, from foundations to defining patterns.
Deliverables
Over two years, we developed a comprehensive design system now utilized by hundreds of developers. Through extensive research, including market analysis and usability testing, we ensured a seamless process. Our app designs deliver a consistent mobile experience, featuring streamlined payment flows and optimized navigation.

Our approach included thorough market analysis, usability testing, and the facilitation of internal workshops. We also engaged in regular mobile synchronization meetings and fostered an environment of continuous knowledge sharing regarding patterns and best practices.

Mobile apps design
UBS is enhancing its digital initiatives with a strong emphasis on mobile-first solutions to maintain its competitive edge. Key objectives include delivering a cohesive mobile experience and ensuring uniformity across services.
The team's focus was on seamless mobile experience across app features, more consistent payment flows, shorter login process, and easier in-app navigation.
We worked collaboratively with the UBS engineering team to enhance core processes by focusing on aspects such as handover and quality control, design assessments, cross-team coordination, and the creation of a mobile design system.
In this project, UBS expected support in building a best-in-class mobile banking app, which would be highly rated in Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

Our contributions were integral to revamping the navigation, payment, and login processes, along with refining the landing page experience. This was achieved through a detailed process involving user testing, prototyping, and both UX and UI design.
The outcome was a streamlined mobile experience, with more uniform payment processes, expedited login procedures, and enhanced in-app navigation for users.

Outcomes
This work helped reframe how internal stakeholders at UBS approached design for high-trust, high-complexity tools. The new design system set a foundation for consistent, accessible UI across multiple applications — without compromising brand tone or user confidence.
The payment functionalities and the login procedure were revamped and released as integrated components, enhancing the overall navigation experience. Furthermore, the application rolled out a newly designed home screen centered around the user, delivering insights into the customer's financial well-being, offering valuable information, and suggesting new products. These changes have been well-received by thousands of customers, who have left positive reviews on the app store.
